Vermiculite

Vermiculite is a clay mineral that expands into a flaky, airy soil amendment when superheated. The shiny, brown substrate is lightweight and soft, great to add to houseplant soil for air pockets. More hydrating than perlite, this soil addition is great for tropical, water-loving plants. We use this amendment in our Houseplant Soil Mix because it does an amazing job keeping soil from getting too compacted.
