Staghorn Fern Plaque

These simple, elegant plaques feature a beautiful Staghorn Fern mounted to a diamond-shaped cedar board with sphagnum moss. Staghorn Ferns get their name from the large, bifurcated, antler-like fronds that shoot out dramatically from the center of the plant. These ferns are epiphytes, growing naturally in the crooks of trees, which makes them an ideal candidate for mounting, as they require little root space to thrive. The small size of these plaques make them an ideal choice to liven up small spaces like a sunny kitchen or bedroom. With a built in hook, they hang easily and they look great groups of 2 or more. 

PLANT CARE

• Light: Bright, indirect light
• Water: When soil at base of plant feels barely moist, submerge entire mount in room temperature water until fully saturated

WHAT TO EXPECT

We'll make your Staghorn Fern Plaque to order, choosing from our favorite Platycerium species, typically P. bifurcatum and P. 'Netherlands'. No two pieces are alike, and yours will have its own unique shape, size and personality - expect this natural variation from the photos.
